Victor Musgrave from Gallery One asked if I could restore a very dirty Yves Klein sponge for 5 pounds. I said yes immediately. Took the sponge home, threw it in the bathtub, squeezed the pigment out of the sponge, let it settle and slowly drained off the water. When the original Yves Klein blue was dry I put it back on the sponge. There was a little of the original pigment left over. This vacuum formed relief was painted with it.
720 vacuum formed paintboxes containing six pigment squares in every possible combination.
